Nevzer Gülistan Stacey (UAA ‘58) founded HasNa, Inc. in 1998 in Washington, DC to promote cross-cultural understanding and economic empowerment in culturally divided areas of the world. Its mission is to encourage individuals and communities in such areas to work together toward advancement and peaceful coexistence. Dr. Demet Güral (ÜAA ’71), Vice President of Programs, Pathfinder International, Inc.

Dr. Güral is a physician and a public health specialist with more than 20 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health programs and primary health care management. As Vice President of Programs, she manages senior staff in Pathfinder’s country offices and at headquarters. She also oversees the Technical Services and Program Operations Units. Before joining Pathfinder International, Dr. Güral was the Executive Director of Willows Foundation, which has extensive reproductive health programs in Turkey and Ghana. At Willows Foundation, she focused on integrating community based services and finding innovative ways to reach out to underserved populations. Prior to the Willows Foundation, Dr. Güral was the Executive Director for the Human Resource Development Foundation in Turkey where she established a diversity program in sexual reproductive health and rights for vulnerable groups in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. She also initiated the first NGO anti-human trafficking program in Turkey and raised more than $1.5 million to support the program.

During her impressive career she has worked in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Yemen. (source: Pathfinder International website)
