An American Cook in Turkey
Anna (Glass) Edmonds
Now in its sixth printing, this book introduced Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine to American and other foreign women in Turkey, and showed them how to prepare their own recipes with materials available in Turkey at the time. A look at the proposed ingredients in some of the recipes provides a window on the Turkish marketplace before the opening of the economy in the 1980’s. “An American Cook in Turkey” is now also available through Redhouse Publications. FABSIT will donate all proceeds over cost to scholarships.
